The Narrows Baseball Club is a select baseball program
for players aged 13-18. Most of the program's players
reside in Gig Harbor, Key and Kitsap Peninsulas. There
are no residence requirements. The Club was established
to develop members into competitive, high school and
post-high school baseball players. It was organized in
2003 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations
to the Club are fully tax deductible.
Our teams have had a lot of success in the past few years
posting winning seasons both on and off the field. We have
had many players from our 18u team go onto college both
Division 1 and 2 and the Junior College level. Our 18u
team has won the USABF National tournament in 2007.
Our coaches have years of experience playing and
teaching the game to develop players for potential play at
high school, college and/or professional levels. We have
former professional players, a former Major League
Scouting Supervisor, a former Division 1 college player, a
Certified Teacher and high school Athletic Director, as
well as coaches with experience at each age level on staff.
Our staff has direct connections with a multitude of
college coaches and professional scouts and Scouting
Directors.
We select tournaments based upon quality of competition
and the exposure of our players to college and
professional baseball scouts, especially for our 16U and
18U levels. We play independent or league game
schedules as well.
Training and instruction is uniform throughout the
program and is conducted at the level of collegiate and
professional programs by our professional coaching staff.
Players have the opportunity to play between 50 and 70+
games during the spring-summer season (depending upon
their age), Generally, each team participates in three -
four tournaments that require overnight stays. In
addition, the Club offers a "Fall Ball" program of
instruction and games.
Team workouts will begin in late October at the Gig
Harbor Baseball Academy. In addition, all Club
members are eligible to use the Academy's facilities on an
individual basis throughout the year. Hours of operation
are posted on the Membership page.
The Club's 13U,14U teams will begin playing games and
tournaments at the beginning of April while the older
teams (15u,16U and 18U) start as soon as the school
season concludes. Summer season ends for all teams
approximately the middle of August.
Fall Ball season begins in September and runs through
October.
